For those feeling inspired for 2024, read these tips to prepare: 

Step 1: Set Clear Goals

Before you even tie those laces or pump your bike tires, get real about what you want to accomplish. Rickard and I have always believed in the power of a clear goal, whether it's beating a personal best or just making it across the finish line. This will be your North Star in training and on race day.

Step 2: Create a Training Plan

Developing a well-structured training plan is crucial for success in any endurance event. Consult with a coach or use a reputable training program to create a plan that includes a balance of swimming, cycling, and running workouts. Gradually increase your training volume and intensity over time to avoid injury and burnout.

Step 3: Get a Good Bike Fit

This will help your body acclimate to the heat and humidity, reducing the risk of heat-related issues during the race. Coming from Florida, Rickard and I can attest that this local advantage is golden - and fair warning for you Northerners. :)

Set up a transition area at home or find a local training facility that allows you to simulate race day conditions. We've both been there: fumbling through transitions and losing precious seconds. So practice that T1 and T2 until it feels like second nature.

Whether it's an aerodynamic helmet or the perfect pair of running shoes, the right gear can make or break your race experience. Don't skimp here. Quality is non-negotiable. Don't forget essentials like a comfortable pair of running shoes, a reliable bike computer, and a nutrition belt to carry your fuel.
