Bikes dropped off for service must be picked up within three business days of completion notification. Bicycles not picked up within three business days will be subject to our bike storage fees. Bike storage fees will be our standard for a day until the bike is picked up. Some restrictions apply. Certain bikes may require additional fees.

Services & Repairs of E-bikes
Why E-Bike Service Costs More
We love e-bikes and are proud to service them. E-bikes can be heavier, more complex, and include electrical systems. E-bike service often requires more time, equipment, and care than a traditional bike. To keep our pricing fair and transparent, here’s what to expect:
1. Extra Weight & Handling
- Most e-bikes weigh two to three times more than a standard bike.
- Lifting, securing, and working on them safely takes more time and specialized equipment.
- Flat repairs, wheel truing, and adjustments often require extra labor.
2. Electrical Systems & Diagnostics
- Many e-bikes require system checks, software updates, or troubleshooting with brand-specific tools.
- We charge a small diagnostic fee for battery or motor testing, just like you’d expect with a car.
3. Parts & Safety
- Removing wheels, motors, or integrated wiring adds steps compared to standard bikes.
- Battery recycling or safe handling also carries extra costs.
4. Bike Shop Quality Only
For safety and parts availability, we only service:
- E-bike brands that we sell in-store.
- Bike shop quality e-bikes purchased from trusted retailers.
We do not service direct-to-consumer or non-standard e-bikes, as replacement parts and diagnostics are often unavailable or unsafe.
5. Commitment to UL Safety Standards
Playtri Sarasota has adopted the National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) industry-wide voluntary UL certification standards. This means:
