The lightest Colnago ever
The V5Rs is the lightest Colnago ever built, with a ready-to-paint frame weighing in at 685 grams. The frame kit weighs 12.5% less than its predecessor, without compromising rigidity.
Thinner profiles
The experience gained with the Y1Rs has allowed us to refine the design of the V5Rs, which uses thin, high-performance profiles. In the wind tunnel, its aerodynamic performance is close to that of the best aero frames.
Narrow frontal area
The frontal area of the V5Rs measures 250 cm², 13% less than its predecessor. The evolution of the head tube - now narrower - helps reduce air resistance and save watts.
Stiff and responsive
The V5Rs combines lightness and aerodynamics without compromising stiffness and responsiveness, guaranteeing performance suited to the needs of the professional riders of the UAE teams.
More precise steering
The V5Rs has a new fork that is lighter and more precise. The tyre clearance of 32 mm allows the use of wider tyres: more grip, better handling and speed on uneven terrain.
Absolute carbon quality.
Thanks to new lamination techniques, the arrangement of carbon fibres is studied and controlled in every area of the frame. The result is a lightweight, resistant and long-lasting structure.
The V5Rs has been designed to improve every aspect of riding: weight, aerodynamics, rigidity and handling, taking into account the real needs of racing. The only goal: to win.
What is the difference between C68 Road and V5RS?
Although both models are top-of-the-range carbon racing bikes with very similar geometries, there are big differences. The construction technique of the V5Rs frame is monocoque; the C68 is a modular frame composed of several interlocking parts. The philosophy is also radically different: the V5Rs is a bike designed and optimised for use by professional racers. More rigid and lighter, it suits highly powerful racers with extremely flexible muscles and joints. The C68, on the other hand, is designed for maximum riding pleasure: a snappy and responsive bike that calls for speed, with the perfect balance that a racing bike should have between enjoyment and performance.
